Quality Control Technician Role

As our Quality Control Technician, you will provide hands-on quality support throughout the manufacturing process. Your work will begin with the receipt and inspection of raw materials and packaging and continue through in-process and finished-product testing. Working closely with the Quality and Production teams, you will coordinate third-party laboratory analysis and maintain accurate testing records. You will also manage retain samples, support quality investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures in a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with quality data and supporting compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices. They will also bring a collaborative approach and a commitment to product quality and continuous improvement.

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for upholding Good Manufacturing Practices by performing raw material receiving and testing, in-process testing and inspection, coordinating third party laboratory testing of finished goods, maintaining a trending program and analyzing data for quality management reviews.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily quality support as designated by management.

  • Inspects received packaging, labeling, and raw materials.

  • Assists with Quality projects, which may include scanning records, restructuring the calibration program, validation efforts, inspection of product per sampling plans, and other projects related to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Maintains, trends, and reports QC data to contribute to continuous improvement efforts and quality management reviews.

  • Performs laboratory activities including raw materials inspection and testing as directed by the Quality Unit.

  • Reports any unsafe or adverse conditions to management.

  • Other responsibilities and working collaboratively with Oral BioTech teams as directed.

  • Performs as primary for in-process testing during production campaigns.

  • Performs as primary, quality control activities, including: Water system and equipment challenges, Raw material expiry and inventory control, Environmental monitoring.

  • Contributes to revising process documentation as needed.

  • Performs as primary on communication for third party testing laboratory to facilitate heavy metal, microbiology, and other product assays.

  • Generates product C of A as needed.

  • Supports testing on products from stability or validation studies.

  • Manages retain samples locker and performs periodic retains examinations.

  • Supports complaint investigations.

  • Maintains accurate completion of testing records.

  • Supports continuous process improvements.

  • Supports other Quality functions as needed and as directed by management.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma.

  • Direct quality, manufacturing, or laboratory experience.

  • Ongoing QC training: Familiarization of product specifications, Proper setup and use of lab equipment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience working in data management software such as Excel, data entry and trending.

  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between Oral BioTech facilities daily.

  • Ability to don PPE and work in a cleanroom environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quality control experience.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment or laboratory, cGMP experience highly preferred.

  • 1-2 years work experience in a regulated environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods.

  • Bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
