Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join a growing manufacturing operation in Mentor, OH. This is a hands-on quality position supporting the inspection and documentation of manufactured products, with a strong focus on sheet metal and weldment quality.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of manufacturing quality experience and be comfortable reading blueprints, using precision measurement equipment, completing inspections, and working closely with Engineering and Production teams.
Responsibilities

Inspect machined, fabricated, and sheet metal products to engineering drawings and specifications.

Perform first-piece and First Article Inspections (FAI) and complete required documentation.

Inspect weldments and verify critical dimensions.

Create and maintain product inspection forms and documentation.

Perform incoming and in-process inspections.

Lead capability studies and Gage R&R activities.

Maintain calibration records and ensure measurement equipment remains current.

Use Excel to track, chart, and report Quality Department KPIs.

Assist with quality audits and ISO-related activities.

Support 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Assist with root cause analysis, deviations, and corrective actions.

Create and review PSIRs, QIPs, and inspection documentation for new products.

Work with Engineering to establish measurement requirements for new products.

Communicate quality issues with Production, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and vendors.

Participate in cross-training and employee development initiatives.

Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
-
Follow established quality management processes and ISO guidelines.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of manufacturing experience in a Quality Technician or Quality Lead role.

Previous sheet metal experience is required.

Previous experience with weldment inspections.

Strong blueprint/CAD drawing reading skills.

Experience using precision measurement equipment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including charting and data tracking.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
