Job description

Guildhall is running the search for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a main contractor delivering a range of building and civil projects in the UAE. The client is hiring across several delivery functions at once, a sign of active project wins that need commercial cover now. This is a full-cycle QS seat on named high-rise and civil jobs, not a function being built from scratch.

The role

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, bills of quantities and detailed cost plans

  • Manage subcontractor tender packages, evaluations, negotiations and awards

  • Produce monthly valuations and assess variations and claims

  • Verify subcontractor payment certificates and support cost control

  • Carry out site visits and coordinate commercial matters with project teams

What's on offer

  • Full-cycle QS ownership from tender through to final account

  • Live high-rise, civil, commercial and residential project exposure

Hiring a Quantity Surveyor in Dubai

A Quantity Surveyor at a UAE main contractor typically sits inside the commercial team and owns cost control on one or more live packages, reporting into a Commercial Manager or Commercial Director. The role runs the full cycle: tender review, quantity take-offs, subcontractor procurement, monthly valuations and final accounts. High-rise and large civil projects in Dubai consistently drive demand for QS talent who can move between site and head office and manage variations without close supervision. Contractors expanding their project book tend to hire QS talent in clusters alongside estimating, structural and project engineering roles, usually signalling live project wins rather than speculative headcount.
