Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor Engineer (QS Engineer) to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of quantity surveying, construction/fit-out works, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, variations, claims, subcontractor management, and project cost control.

The QS Engineer will work closely with the Project Managers, Site Engineers, Design Team, Procurement Team, Subcontractors, and Suppliers to ensure that project costs are properly monitored and controlled while maintaining compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs based on architectural, structural, MEP, joinery, and fit-out drawings.

• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accurate quantities and identify scope discrepancies.

• Prepare cost estimates, rate analysis, and tender pricing.

• Obtain, compare, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Monitor project costs, budgets, and cost forecasts to ensure effective cost control.

• Prepare and evaluate variations, claims, and cost breakdowns.

• Measure completed works and prepare progress valuations and payment applications.

• Review and verify subcontractor measurements, valuations, and payment claims.

• Coordinate with project, site, procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding quantities and costs.

• Maintain accurate records of project quantities, costs, variations, and commercial documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer, including at least 5 years of UAE experience.;

• Experience in construction, interior fit-out, joinery, or related projects is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project specifications.

• Excellent knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis, cost estimation, variations, valuations, and cost control.

• Familiarity with construction contracts and commercial procedures.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.

• Knowledge of Planswift and other QS / estimation software is an advantage.

• Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
