Quantity Surveyor / Estimation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Quantity Surveyor with 3โ€“5 years of relevant experience in construction and civil engineering projects. The candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, subcontractor management, measurement, valuation, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates for civil and infrastructure works.

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents to identify project requirements and quantities.

  • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, subcontractor quotations, and commercial comparisons.

  • Measure completed works and prepare interim payment applications and valuations.

  • Verify subcontractor measurements, invoices, and payment applications.

  • Monitor project costs, commitments, variations, and overall commercial performance.

  • Prepare and evaluate variation orders, claims, and additional work quantities.

  • Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, measurements, and contractual documentation.

  • Assist in preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Consultants, Clients, and subcontractors regarding quantities and commercial matters.

  • Review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiate where required.

  • Assist with contract administration and final accounts.

  • Ensure that all measurements and valuations comply with project specifications, drawings, contract conditions, and applicable standards.

  • Conduct site visits to verify actual quantities and progress of works.

  • Identify potential cost risks and support effective cost-control measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in civil construction or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, estimation, valuation, and cost control.

  • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Experience in handling variations, claims, subcontractor payments, and final accounts.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and quantity surveying/cost-estimation software is an advantage.

  • Good analytical, numerical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site and commercial teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience in roads, infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, utilities, concrete works, building construction, or other civil engineering projects will be an advantage.
