QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: Qatar

Experience: 5+ Years

Education: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering / Architecture

Specific Role & Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents.

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and rate build-ups for materials, labour, subcontractors, logistics, and installation.

• Obtain, evaluate, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.

• Prepare detailed quotation comparison sheets and negotiate competitive rates.

• Develop project budgets, tender summaries, and final selling prices.

• Ensure all direct costs, preliminaries, overheads, risks, and profit margins are included.

• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and commercial risks before tender submission.

• Prepare and maintain a tender risk and opportunity register.

• Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Project teams to confirm scope and costing.

• Review design revisions and assess their cost impact during the tender stage.

• Identify and develop value-engineering and cost-saving options.

• Benchmark rates against previous projects and current market prices.

• Prepare commercial clarifications and qualifications for tender submission.

• Ensure all tender submissions are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time.

• Maintain an updated supplier, subcontractor, material, and historical cost database.

• Prepare tender-to-project handover documents after award, including approved costs, quotations, assumptions, exclusions, and scope.

• Track tender performance against target margins and approved budgets.

• Support management with commercial analysis, pricing strategy, and tender recommendations.

• Maintain complete and organized tender costing records and supporting documents.
