Where you'll be working

Join the Hepatology team at Westmead Hospital, part of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), and contribute to a specialist service focused on improving outcomes for people living with viral hepatitis and complex liver disease. You’ll work alongside experienced clinical and research professionals in a collaborative, patient-centred environment, with opportunities to make a tangible difference across both hospital and community care.

• Work across the Liver Assessment Nurse-led Clinic, FibroScan Clinic and Hepatitis Outreach Service.

• Support patients experiencing viral hepatitis, liver cancer and advanced liver disease.

• Collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy and allied health professionals.

• Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement through the Storr Liver Centre.

• Work across public and private healthcare facilities within WSLHD, with Westmead Hospital as your primary base.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Registered Nurse – Hepatology, you’ll combine high-quality clinical care with patient education, outreach, research and service development. Your expertise will help patients navigate complex liver disease while supporting innovative approaches to hepatitis management and treatment.

• Coordinate and deliver evidence-based care for patients with viral hepatitis and liver disease.

• Deliver nursing care through liver assessment, fibrosis and hepatology clinics under medical direction.

• Provide patient education and support to patients, families and carers to promote informed self-management.

• Collaborate with the Hepatitis Clinical Nurse Consultants and Clinical Trials Manager, including supporting clinical research trials.

• Contribute to hepatitis awareness initiatives, quality improvement, research and professional education.

• Registration: AHPRA

• Proven commitment to continuing professional development.

• Proven ability to use initiative be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment with a focus on delivering organised and prioritised care, in order to achieve the most effective and efficient outcomes for the patient.

• Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and prioritisation.

• Sound knowledge regarding hepatitis treatment with skills/experience specialising in Hepatitis.

• Knowledge of or experience in clinical trials, adherence to protocols and safe clinical practice.

• Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia
