As a
Security Engineer III
at ASI, you design and implement security architecture built on defense in depth across endpoint, identity, cloud, and network layers. You own the security tooling portfolio end to end, evaluating, selecting, deploying, and managing platforms such as EDR, MDR, and SIEM, and you define the secure configuration baselines that harden ASI systems. You serve as the escalation point and work with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Responsibilities
-
Design and implement layered security architecture spanning endpoint, identity, email, network, and cloud controls.
-
Manage the security tooling portfolio across endpoint detection and response (EDR), managed detection and response (MDR), and security information and event management (SIEM).
-
Extend tooling coverage to email and web security, vulnerability management, and identity protection.
-
Evaluate and select new platforms, defining requirements, running proof-of-concept pilots, and recommending vendors.
-
Own one or more security platforms end to end, from deployment and integration through tuning and ongoing management.
-
Tune SIEM rules, log sources, and alerting to widen detection coverage while reducing false positives.
-
Define, deploy, and maintain secure configuration baselines that harden systems across the environment.
-
Lead investigation and response for significant security incidents, driving containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.
-
Serve as the senior escalation point for security issues, working with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience.
-
5 to 10 years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, or security operations.
-
Demonstrated experience designing layered, defense-in-depth controls across endpoint, identity, network, and cloud.
-
Hands-on experience deploying and administering EDR and SIEM platforms.
-
Demonstrated experience leading security incident investigation and response as a senior escalation point.
-
Experience evaluating and selecting security tooling, including requirements definition, proof-of-concept testing, and recommendation.
-
Working knowledge of a security framework such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, Center for Internet Security (CIS) Controls, or International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 62443.
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or a Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) credential such as GCIH, GCIA, or GCED.
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.
-
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.
-
Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.
-
Ability to traverse office, data center, and industrial environments as required.
