The Senior Accountant – Client Accounting supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial information for KeyState managed investment entities and clients. Working closely with the VP - Client Accounting, this role is responsible for financial statement preparation, bond accounting support, account reconciliations, cash management activities, trade validation processes, and operational improvement initiatives. The Senior Accountant helps ensure the integrity of financial reporting while supporting process automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the client accounting function.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process and financial statement preparation for assigned investment entities and clients.

  • Complete assigned accounting, reconciliation, and reporting activities accurately and within established deadlines.

  • Support bond accounting activities for assigned entities, coordinating with thirdparty providers and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.

  • Reconcile and validate information between the internal trade system and financial reporting records.

  • Investigate and resolve trade, accounting, and reporting discrepancies in coordination with internal stakeholders.

  • Monitor and reconcile entity cash accounts and ensure transactions are properly recorded and documented.

  • Coordinate work with offshore resources when utilized, including assigning tasks, reviewing deliverables, and providing feedback to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of process improvements across accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and operational workflows.

  • Evaluate and implement approved automation and AIenabled solutions that improve efficiency while maintaining strong internal controls.

  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.

  • Three or more years of accounting, financial reporting, fund accounting, public accounting, client accounting, or related experience.

  • Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve issues accurately.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing highquality work under deadlines.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience working with accounting systems, reporting platforms, and data reconciliation processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate workflow and manage multiple priorities in pursuit of critical deadlines.

  • Experience implementing process improvements, workflow automation, or AIenabled business tools.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
