Job description

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team responsible for

ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the firm's financial data.

This role

supports a multi-entity, project-driven A/E environment and requires strong technical accounting skills, deep understanding of GAAP,

and the ability to work

collaboratively across finance, operations, and project management.

This position will support GL and month-end close functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger & Financial Close

    • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple entities

    • Prepare, review, and post journal entries including accruals, allocations, and reclassifications

    • Reconcile balance sheets monthly with proper documentation and variance analysis

    • Maintain compliance with US GAAP and firm accounting policies

  • Multi-Entity and Intercompany Accounting

    • Monitor and reconcile shared service allocations, cross-charges, and labor transfers

    • Support consolidated financial statement preparation across the firm's corporate structure

  • Financial Reporting and Audit Support

    • Prepare internal financial statements, management schedules, and variance reports

    • Assist with annual external financial audit, providing support schedules and documentation

    • Support external tax advisors with GL-related requests for tax filings

  • Process Improvements and Systems

    • Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, and process automation initiatives

    • Recommend improvements to workflows, internal controls, and accounting procedures

    • Develop and document SOPs for GL processes and financial close

  • Other

    • Assist with bi-weekly payroll and expense reports for each legal entity

    • Miscellaneous reporting, such as census reports, tax filings, annual 1099- NEC and 1099-MISC

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Positive attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in a remote setting

  • Highly trustworthy, handling confidential information with care, leads by example

  • Strong understanding of US GAPP

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Self-motivated, consistently prioritizing effectively in a potentially high stress environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Eager to grow and take on additional responsibilities

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required

  • 5+ years' experience in general ledger accounting

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and specialized accounting software used by the organization

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft F&O (Finance and Operations) a plus
