Senior Accountant – Retail & Supermarket Operations

• Manage daily accounting operations, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and expenses.

• Reconcile daily supermarket sales, cash collections, POS, credit/debit card, and online payment transactions.

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including supplier invoices and outstanding balances.

• Verify purchase invoices, GRNs, purchase orders, and supplier statements.

• Perform supplier and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

• Monitor petty cash, expenses, refunds, discounts, voids, and cash shortages/overages.

• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, cashier, and store teams regarding accounting and stock-related issues.

• Assist with inventory accounting, stock-take reconciliation, and investigation of stock variances.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and management reports.

• Support month-end closing, Profit & Loss statements, and financial reporting.

• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company accounting policies and VAT requirements.

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required financial documents.

• Supervise junior accounting staff and ensure timely completion of accounting activities.

• Maintain accurate financial records and implement effective internal controls.

• Analyze financial data and provide management with accurate information for business decisions.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Candidates with proven experience in supermarket, hypermarket, or retail accounting are preferred.

• Strong knowledge of retail accounting, daily sales reconciliation, cash management, inventory, and supplier accounts.

• Experience with POS sales reconciliation, stock reconciliation, purchase invoices, and VAT accounting.

• Good knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.

• Candidates with relevant supermarket accounting experience will be given preference.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple accounting activities efficiently.
