Responsibilities
This position is responsible for day-to-day financial operations at the College of Law (CoL). Responsible for administrating daily fiscal functions, financial reporting, Institute and Center operations and budgets, foundation budgets, and reimbursements for College of Law.

Manages and monitors various budgets and financial records to properly account for revenue and expenditure transactions within interdepartmental operational, auxiliary, and foundation budgets. Develops, analyzes, and maintains financial, statistical, and accounting analysis reports for the College of Law. Assists with preparing annual state, auxiliary, and foundation operating budgets. Performs monthly reconciliations, conducts financial analyses of departmental operations, prepares cost analysis, projection reports, and trend analytics.

Resolves complex financial/accounting discrepancies and serves as the point of contact for any disbursement issues. Serves as the fiscal manager approving and monitoring financial transactions in compliance with University policies and procedures. May initiate budget transfers in the absence of the CoL Budget Manager. Supports annual budget/salary entry and carryforward spending plan/reconciliation entry. Supervises departmental staff performing fiscal functions, including those related to procurement and travel, providing day-to-day guidance and coordination of the financial team.

Develops, interprets, recommends, and implements internal control policies to ensure sound fiscal management and compliance with Federal, State, and University policies and procedures. Collaborates with leadership to design, develop, and implement accounting procedures, reconciliation procedures, and management reports that support the business functions of CoL. Conducts internal audits by examining, analyzing, and verifying financial records.

Participates in projects designed to expand or enhance the financial and operational systems to meet CoL needs. Develops and maintains partnerships throughout the University to attain fiscal goals and objectives for CoL. Provides support for all Centers and Institutes as required.

Serves as primary proxy for Financial Specialist. Provides monthly ledger reconciliations, other financial reports as requested by the Assistant Dean for Finance, and approves eRDFs and travel. Oversees workflow requests for fiscal transactions and serves as backup contact for submitters and central offices regarding status updates.

Manages, updates, and documents processes and procedures to accomplish job duties and tasks. Responsible for budget and revenue forecasting as well as financial statements for all accounts. Develops and maintains partnerships throughout the university to attain office and college goals and objectives. Coordinates and/or serves on committees for planning and implementing best business practices as requested by the Assistant Dean for Finance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of accounting related experience or a combination of post high school education and accounting related experience equal to eight years.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience independently managing complex fiscal operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial analysis. They should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with departments, centers, or institutes to monitor budgets, align financial priorities, and support leadership in strategic decision-making. Strong supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly translate financial information for non-financial audiences in a collaborative and solutions-oriented manner.
