About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking an Senior AI Software Engineer located in Charlotte to support a project in the financialsector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 monthsbut may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week.

Job Profile: Senior AI Software Engineer (Corporate Treasury Technology)

Role Summary

Corporate Treasury Technology is seeking a highly motivated Senior AI Software Engineer to help modernize the technology ecosystem supporting market execution, funding, investments, hedge accounting, risk management, and regulatory initiatives across the CFO organization.

This role will leverage Artificial Intelligence and modern software engineering practices to accelerate application modernization, improve software delivery performance, automate testing, and establish a closed-loop software development lifecycle. The engineer will work within Agile delivery teams and partner with business, architecture, product, risk, and engineering leaders to transform legacy platforms into scalable, resilient, and AI-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Driven Application Modernization

  • Analyze legacy applications, architectures, and codebases.

  • Use AI-assisted tooling to reverse engineer business requirements, technical designs, interfaces, and workflows.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, modernize, decompose, or retire legacy platforms.

  • Recommend target-state architectures and migration strategies.

  • Generate and review AI-assisted application designs and software components.

  • Establish reusable modernization patterns and frameworks across Treasury Technology.

AI-Assisted Software Engineering

  • Leverage Generative AI and agentic development tools to:

    • Generate requirements and design artifacts

    • Create code scaffolding and reusable components

    • Improve code quality and maintainability

    • Accelerate developer productivity

    • Automate documentation and knowledge capture

  • Evaluate emerging AI engineering platforms and recommend adoption strategies.

Closed-Loop Software Delivery

  • Design and implement a closed-loop software delivery operating model that continuously links:

    • Requirements

    • Architecture

    • Development

    • Testing

    • Deployment

    • Production monitoring

    • Incident management

    • Business outcomes

  • Create automated feedback loops to improve quality, reliability, and delivery speed.

  • Implement engineering metrics and AI-driven delivery insights.

Automated Testing & Quality Engineering

  • Design and build automated testing frameworks including:

    • Unit testing

    • Integration testing

    • API testing

    • Regression testing

    • End-to-end testing

    • Synthetic test-data generation

  • Develop AI-assisted test harnesses and golden-master comparison frameworks.

  • Improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort.

  • Support production validation and release certification processes.

Agile Release Train & Engineering Excellence

  • Partner with product, architecture, and Agile teams to enhance release train practices.

  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

  • Build engineering standards, patterns, and governance.

  • Drive DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering best practices.

  • Establish repeatable delivery processes that enable faster and more predictable releases.

Treasury Technology Innovation

Support critical Treasury capabilities including:

  • Market Execution

  • Funding & Liquidity Management

  • Investment Management

  • Hedge Accounting

  • Market Risk Management

  • Credit Risk Management

  • Regulatory Reporting

  • Data Integration & Analytics

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline.

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and platforms.

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Java

    • Python

    • REST APIs

    • Microservices

    • SQL/NoSQL databases

    • Event-driven architectures

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD platforms.

  • Experience building automated test frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.

  • Experience working within Agile delivery organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying Generative AI to software engineering.

  • Experience with AI coding assistants, agentic development workflows, and LLM-based engineering tools.

  • Experience with Treasury, Capital Markets, Risk, or Finance platforms.

  • Knowledge of:

    • Market Risk

    • Fixed Income

    • Mortgage-Backed Securities

    • Treasury Operations

    • Regulatory Reporting

  • Experience establishing Agile Release Train (ART) processes.

  • Experience with cloud platforms and modern engineering ecosystems.
