Daily.fun is an early-stage consumer technology company building the next generation of engaging, gamified market experiences.

We are a consumer tech company that happens to use blockchain. Our goal is to bring prediction-market and trading-style experiences to a mass consumer audience through products that are significantly more engaging, entertaining, and accessible.

The team is currently made up of 3 people — 2 Co-Founders and 1 Founding Engineer, with backgrounds including Aave, Polymarket, and Google.

The company recently raised a $2M seed round at a $40M valuation and is preparing for its upcoming Demo Day, with plans to raise another round shortly afterward.

We are building a highly ambitious product at the intersection of Web3, prediction markets, trading mechanics, gaming, and consumer entertainment.

Our product is launching soon in Beta.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and own the backend systems that power Daily.fun.

You will work directly with the CEO, Co-Founders, and core technical team to turn ambitious product ideas into reliable production systems — often within hours rather than weeks.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who enjoys building from the ground up, working with modern backend infrastructure, solving difficult systems problems, and shipping rapidly.

You will be responsible for everything from high-throughput backend services and real-time data pipelines to APIs, databases, indexing systems, infrastructure, and blockchain integrations.

There is no corporate bureaucracy or unnecessary middle management. You will own your systems end-to-end and have a direct impact on the product.

What You'll DoBackend & Distributed Systems

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput backend services.

• Build systems that remain fast, reliable, and scalable as user activity and transaction volume increase.

• Develop clean, maintainable, and scalable backend architecture.

• Work with APIs, databases, queues, caching systems, and distributed systems.

• Identify and solve performance, reliability, and scalability bottlenecks.

Data & Infrastructure

• Build and own backend APIs and production services.

• Design data pipelines and real-time workflows.

• Build indexing systems for blockchain and application data.

• Work with databases, caching layers, queues, and infrastructure.

• Develop production tooling, monitoring, and systems that improve reliability.

Blockchain & Web3

• Integrate blockchain networks and on-chain data into consumer-facing products.

• Work with smart contracts, wallets, transactions, and blockchain data.

• Build and maintain blockchain indexing infrastructure.

• Abstract blockchain complexity so that users can interact with the product without unnecessary Web3 friction.

Product Development

• Prototype new product ideas quickly.

• Build experiments, ship them to production, analyze real-world usage, and iterate.

• Work closely with founders and technical leadership to translate product concepts into production-ready systems.

• Participate in architectural and technical decisions across the product.

• Take ownership from initial design through deployment, monitoring, and optimization.

Required QualificationsBackend Engineering

• Strong professional experience building and operating production backend systems.

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals and systems-design skills.

• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js, or a comparable modern backend technology stack.

• Experience designing and building APIs and production services.

• Strong understanding of databases, queues, caching, and distributed systems.

• Experience working with real-time data or high-concurrency systems is highly valuable.

Engineering Mindset

• Strong ownership mentality — you don't simply complete tickets; you solve problems.

• Ability to move quickly from idea → prototype → production.

• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with ambiguity.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

• High standards for code quality, architecture, reliability, and performance.

• Comfortable taking responsibility for systems you build after they reach production.

Web3 / Blockchain

• Strong interest in or professional experience with Web3/blockchain technology.

• Ability to understand and work with on-chain systems, blockchain data, wallets, and smart contracts.

Compensation & Package

Base Salary + Equity

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, technical depth, previous company/startup experience, Web3 expertise, and overall fit.
