Position Summary

The Senior Business Analytics Engineer will play a key role in turning Lakers business data into actionable insights, reporting, and decision support across the organization. This person will be responsible for developing and managing analytics around ticketing and other core business verticals, combining strong technical analytical skills with a deep understanding of business performance and strategy. The Senior Business Analytics Engineer will own BI and reporting efforts, including building and maintaining dashboards, establishing key performance metrics, identifying the right questions to ask, and translating complex or imperfect data into clear, reliable, and actionable recommendations.

Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):

  • Own analytics and reporting for ticketing and support analytical needs across other Lakers business verticals.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau/PowerBI dashboards and business intelligence solutions that provide actionable visibility into sales, revenue, conversion, retention, customer behavior, and other key business metrics.

  • Automate recurring reporting and develop scalable analytics solutions that improve efficiency and data accessibility, enabling business teams to understand performance and take action.

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on business questions, opportunities, and challenges, translating findings into clear recommendations.

  • Work directly with raw and transformed datasets to identify inconsistencies, data quality issues, anomalies, and gaps that may impact analysis or reporting.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of dashboards, reports, metrics, and underlying data while establishing clear definitions and reporting standards.

  • Develop a detailed understanding of source systems, business processes, data definitions, and nuances that affect how metrics should be interpreted.

  • Support annual revenue budgeting and forecasting as needed.

  • Design and analyze experiments incremental impact and inform future decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3–5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, revenue analytics, strategy, or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency in Tableau or other BI software required

  • Proficiency in Excel required

  • Proficiency in SQL preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and reporting integrity

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different business functions.

  • Experience within sports, entertainment, live events, hospitality, or another consumer-focused industry is preferred.

The pay range for this role is $120,000-$140,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications. In addition to those factors, we consider the relative pay of our current employees in similar positions when making a final offer.
