The Position

Senior Business Product Manager, 360 Insights

Why Genentech

We're passionate about improving patient lives and building healthier communities—leading with inclusivity, integrity, and creativity to tackle the world's most complex health challenges. Our Data, Digital, & Analytics (DDA) team is at the heart of this mission, partnering with the Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) organization to turn data, analytics, and AI/ML into fast, high-impact decisions.

The Opportunity

This role is part of the Insights & Analytics Product Suite within Data, Digital & Analytics (DDA), which sits in Genentech’s Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) organization. The Product Suite builds scalable data and analytics products that enable faster, higher-impact decisions across CMG.

We are looking for a Business Product Manager, to own provider (account) contract pull-through analytics products. You will define the strategy and roadmap for capabilities that help account teams monitor provider contract performance, improve quarterly account planning, and conduct targeted, data-driven pull-through discussions with provider customers.

As a business strategist and analytics product owner within Insights & Analytics, this role is accountable for leading the vision, design, development, and enterprise deployment of scalable analytical products that empower customer engagement and market access strategies. Operating at the intersection of business strategy and commercial analytics, you will serve as the strategic bridge between business stakeholders, commercial teams, and engineering partners. While technical build and engineering execution are driven by our Roche Digital Technology (RDT) team, this role owns the product strategy, roadmap, execution, and business value—ensuring our analytical tools directly optimize contracting decisions and access outcomes.

To succeed, you must bring deep expertise in pharmaceutical market access analytics at scale, paired with exceptional project management and operational excellence. Because you will organize and orchestrate a large, cross-functional matrix team (spanning RDT, Access, Sales, and DDA) that does not report directly to you, the ability to lead and influence without authority is critical. This is a business strategy and analytics leadership role, not an engineering or IT software developer role. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience translating complex market access and contracting workflows into high-impact analytical products.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for provider contract pull-through analytics, aligned with Market Access, Therapy Area/Brand, and account-management priorities.

  • Translate the needs of account teams, provider-contract stakeholders, activation teams, analytics partners, and brand teams into scalable product capabilities and reusable performance insights.

  • Prioritize investments using user value, contract value realization, feasibility, data readiness, risk, and enterprise reuse; make clear trade-offs and push back on requests outside the product scope.

  • Establish success measures for adoption, data quality, account-planning efficiency, performance visibility, customer-facing report utilization, and realized contract value.

Provider Contract Performance & Account Planning

  • Deliver a trusted, centralized view of provider contract and sales performance across ecosystems, provider accounts, brands, and eligible contract segments.

  • Enable efficient quarterly account planning through account-list views, standardized performance measures, and drill-downs that support both ecosystem-level strategy and account-specific discussions.

  • Provide granular analysis of eligible contract segments so account teams can identify performance drivers, prioritize needs, and monitor whether provider agreements are delivering intended value and patient access.

  • Enable downloadable data and flexible reporting that allow users to aggregate results across brands, accounts, and ecosystems for trend analysis and strategic decision-making.

Customer-Facing Pull-Through & Contract Awareness

  • Deliver customer-facing performance reports that enable targeted pull-through discussions with provider purchasing decision makers.

  • Maintain tools and content that provide current provider-contract program terms and support consistent customer awareness of relevant contract programs.

  • Ensure customer-facing outputs are accurate, understandable, current, and appropriate for use in account reviews and strategic discussions.

Product Delivery, Data Quality & Adoption

  • Lead the product lifecycle from discovery and requirements through design, development, UAT, launch, scaling, and continuous improvement.

  • Own the business requirements, roadmap, backlog priorities, release readiness, and user experience for provider contract pull-through capabilities.

  • Partner with technical, data, operational-system, and data-stewardship teams to improve upstream feeds, business rules, data lineage, reconciliation, and the reliability of performance reporting.

  • Establish product governance and proactively manage cross-system dependencies, data-quality issues, user expectations, decisions, and delivery risks.

  • Build feedback loops with account teams and partners on training, communications, support processes, and sustained adoption.

  • Communicate the product vision, roadmap, product health, and value to senior business and technical stakeholders.

Compliance

  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing Genentech’s business activities, and ensure that privacy, security, accessibility, and compliance considerations are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, data science, operations, life sciences, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical provider contracting, account analytics, account management, or business product management across multiple therapeutic areas or brands. 4 years experience is required with a PhD.

  • Product Management Expertise: Proven success owning an analytical or digital product through its full lifecycle, with accountability for strategy, roadmap, prioritization, delivery, adoption, and measurable outcomes.

  • Provider Contract Expertise: Strong understanding of direct and GPO-facilitated provider agreements, eligible contract segments, provider-account structures, performance monitoring, and contract value realization.

  • Account Analytics Expertise: Demonstrated ability to translate sales and provider contract performance into actionable account-level and ecosystem-level insights.

  • Customer-Facing Insights: Experience developing accurate performance reports, contract-term materials, or analytical content used in external customer discussions.

  • Data Quality & Operations: Ability to define trusted measures and partner across upstream systems, data feeds, business rules, stewardship, reconciliation, and reporting processes.

  • Execution: Experience translating user needs into requirements, managing Agile backlogs, leading UAT and launches, and driving sustained adoption through training and support.

  • Stakeholder Leadership: Proven success aligning account teams, contracting stakeholders, analytics partners, and technical teams while communicating product value to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience, such as an MBA, MS, or related graduate-level qualification.

  • Experience with provider contracting, group purchasing organizations, health systems, clinics, provider-account analytics, or field account planning.

  • Experience with business-intelligence dashboards, customer-facing report generation, data extracts, trend analysis, and visualization tools.

  • Technical fluency with cloud platforms, APIs, operational data integrations, analytical models, product prototyping, and modern AI-enabled capabilities.
