Job Summary
We are looking for an
experienced
Senior Data Analyst
for a long-term contract role with a Federal Agency.
Required Skills
-
Proven experience
as a data analyst, with strong technical skills in designing data models, developing databases, and using data mining and segmentation techniques.

Able to
write data queries, create reports, and clearly present findings.

Expertise
in developing dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
-
Strong analytical skills to collect, organise, analyse, and accurately interpret large datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

Ability to work in a team environment delivering a high level of customer service, with the ability to build strong working relationships and trust with clients, stakeholders and senior management

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills

Qualifications in
Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

Experience
using reporting and statistical software, databases, and programming (SQL, Python, R, or ETL frameworks
) for extracting, manipulating, automating, and analysing large datasets.

Knowledge or experience working with Microsoft DevOps is highly desirable.

Desirable to have experience in Enterprise Resource Planning Solutions
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to define requirements for data products, analytics, and reporting dashboards.

Gather, clean, and analyse data from various sites across the Intranet to generate actionable insights.

Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics.

Design, plan, and manage data migrations, including risk assessment, mapping, testing, and documentation to ensure successful transfer of data between systems.

Provide subject matter expertise, helping to design and build new systems to perform analytics and detection of non-compliance in a regulatory context.

Support workflow automation and troubleshoot data-related integration issues.

Provide strategic recommendations and support process improvements based on data analysis.

The candidate
must have an active AGSVA Baseline Security clearance and the ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance

with up to 2 extensions not to exceed 24 months

Working arrangements: - A preference for candidates to perform the role in Canberra, although other AEC office locations will be considered. - Flexible working arrangements (i.e. a combination of onsite attendance at an AEC office and remote working) will be considered.
