Role Description

This is a full-time Senior Data Engineer role based in Mecca with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and product needs. Daily responsibilities include developing and optimizing ETL processes, modeling data for various business use cases, and managing data warehousing solutions to ensure reliability and performance. The role will collaborate closely with software engineers, data analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements, ensure data quality, and deliver secure, well-documented data solutions. The Senior Data Engineer will also monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to best practices and standards for data infrastructure across the organization.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong data engineering skills, including experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data infrastructure.

• Candidates should possess data modeling and data warehousing skills to support scalable, well-structured storage and retrieval of business data.

• Candidates should possess Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills to build, optimize, and automate data ingestion and transformation workflows.

• Candidates should possess data analytics skills to interpret data, support decision-making, and collaborate effectively with analytics and product teams.

• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python, Scala, or Java).

• Experience with modern data platforms and tools (e.g., cloud data services, orchestration frameworks, and distributed processing technologies).

• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and mentor less experienced team members.

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
