Position Summary:

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and optimization of Eventus Whole Health’s healthcare data platform. This role partners with business and technical stakeholders to build scalable data infrastructure, architect data pipelines, and deliver high-impact analytics solutions that support operational, financial, and clinical decision-making. The Senior Data Engineer establishes best practices in data engineering, data governance, cloud architecture, and healthcare data management while mentoring junior team members in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

•Qualifications: Education, Licensure and Certifications, Related Work Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

•Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing data warehouses.

•Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and data services.

•Proven experience designing, developing, and managing enterprise data pipelines within AWS environments.

•Strong experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and management of data pipelines.

Other specialized skills and knowledge necessary to perform this job. (e.g., basic accounting principles, computer skills and software, specific healthcare processes, interpersonal, communication, etc.

1.Advanced SQL and data modeling expertise and experience with Snowflake

2.Cloud architecture and AWS data services proficiency.

3.Strong Python programming and ETL/ELT pipeline development skills.

4.Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7), HIPAA compliance, and data governance principles..

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Lead the strategy, design, development, and maintenance of a scalable healthcare data platform.

  2. Deliver high-impact data solutions that generate actionable business and clinical insights.

  3. Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, define project scope, milestones, success criteria, and change management requirements.

  4. Architect, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using healthcare data sources including FHIR APIs, HL7, CMS, HIEs, EHRs, payers, and laboratory systems

  5. Optimize data models, storage architecture, and query performance utilizing cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Snowflake.

  6. Establish and maintain data governance standards, code standardization, documentation, testing frameworks, and monitoring processes.

  7. Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and PHI protections.

  9. Mentor and develop junior data engineers while fostering technical growth and collaboration. 10. Other related duties as assigned.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

•Maintain accurate and complete documentation when performing the job duties.

•Ensure that all Eventus WholeHealth information, data, documentation, and records are always safeguarded and maintained confidentially.

Training and Education:

•Participate in all assigned training.

•Complete all assigned training by the deadline for completion.

Risk Management and Incident Reporting:

•Engage in regular risk assessments to identify potential risks and work proactively with a supervisor and Eventus WholeHealth’s Chief Compliance and Risk Officer to mitigate any identified risks.

•Promptly report any incidents (as defined in the “Incident Report Policy”) to the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer.
