Role Description

As a Senior Data Engineer at Fugo Software Private Limited, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructures that support AI-powered and data-driven products. You will work closely with engineering, analytics, and product teams to develop robust data models, optimize ETL processes, and ensure high data quality and reliability across systems. Daily responsibilities include implementing and monitoring data workflows, improving data warehouse performance, and enabling advanced data analytics and reporting. You will also contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior data engineers, and drive best practices for data governance and security. This is a full-time remote role.

Qualifications

  • Strong data engineering skills, including experience with building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and distributed data processing systems.

  • Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing, with the ability to design efficient schemas and optimize storage for analytics and reporting.

  • Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools, including developing, scheduling, and monitoring ETL workflows.

  • Solid foundation in data analytics, including working with business stakeholders to translate data into insights and support decision-making.

  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java).

  • Experience with modern data stack tools and platforms (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes, orchestration frameworks, and version control systems).

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services is highly beneficial.

  • Understanding of data governance, security, and best practices for handling sensitive and large-scale datasets.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
