ABOUT THE ROLE

Cinergie Digital FZCO seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer for a high-impact, on-site technology engagement in Dubai. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, and Amazon Redshift, and is capable of delivering robust, scalable data warehousing solutions across structured and unstructured data ecosystems — owning data architecture decisions, pipeline optimisation, and data integrity. Aviation/airlines domain experience is a strong advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Database Design & Development

•   Design, develop, and maintain scalable database solutions; build stored procedures, functions, triggers, and PL/SQL objects for complex business logic.

•   Develop and optimise advanced SQL/PL-SQL for ETL processes; apply bulk data processing for high-volume operations.

Data Integration & Warehousing

•   Design and implement data integration pipelines consolidating disparate source systems; build and maintain data warehouses on Oracle and Amazon Redshift.

•   Perform data transformation/analysis for reporting and analytics; ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness across all layers.

Performance Tuning & Optimisation

•   Tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and data flows to meet SLAs; optimise schema, indexing, and execution plans.

•   Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks; monitor database health and implement corrective actions.

Data Modelling & Schema Design

•   Design logical/physical data models aligned to business and technical requirements; define schema design standards; document data models and dictionaries.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

•   Partner with IT and business teams on requirements; participate in technical reviews and sprint planning; communicate findings clearly; support knowledge transfer.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• SQL & PL/SQL Development

• Advanced proficiency writing, debugging, optimising complex SQL/PL-SQL; stored procedures, packages, functions, cursors, triggers in production.

• Bulk Data Processing

• Expertise with BULK COLLECT, FORALL, and parallel processing constructs for high-volume datasets.

• Oracle Database

• Administration, schema management, data modelling, partitioning, indexing, performance tuning at enterprise scale.

• Amazon Redshift

• Architecture knowledge incl. distribution styles, sort keys, vacuum/analyse, and columnar query optimisation.

• Data Modelling & Schema Design

• Logical/physical modelling, dimensional modelling, normalisation/denormalisation, OLTP & OLAP schema design.

• Query Optimisation & Tuning

• Diagnosing slow queries, analysing execution plans, applying optimisation across Oracle and Redshift.

• Data Integration & ETL

• Designing ETL/ELT pipelines consolidating heterogeneous sources into centralised warehouses.

• Problem-Solving & Debugging

• Methodical root-cause analysis; resolving data quality issues; ensuring pipeline reliability.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Strong communicator; translates business requirements into technical solutions.

• Airlines Domain Knowledge

• Familiarity with aviation/airline data structures and workflows highly advantageous; preference given.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

•   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

•   5–8 years' hands-on experience in data engineering, database development, or related role.

•   Advanced SQL/PL-SQL skills with proven track record optimising and debugging in production environments.

•   Demonstrated bulk data processing experience for high-volume enterprise workloads.

•   Proficiency in data modelling, schema design, and query optimisation across relational and analytical platforms.

•   Hands-on knowledge of Oracle Database and Amazon Redshift, including configuration, tuning, and operational management.

•   Proven performance tuning experience across data flows, ETL pipelines, and SQL queries at scale.

•   Strong analytical aptitude for resolving data issues with minimal operational disruption.

•   Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

•   Airlines/aviation industry experience preferred and considered a significant advantage.
