Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to own and operate production infrastructure supporting GSM's local market operations. This role is responsible for ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and deployment efficiency while collaborating closely with global engineering and DevOps teams.

You will play a key role in managing cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes environments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and production incident response.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud

  • Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS/Aurora, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).

  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

  • Configure and manage development, staging, and production environments.

  • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Kubernetes & CI/CD

  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications on Kubernetes (EKS).

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.

  • Implement GitOps practices with ArgoCD.

  • Support deployment strategies including rolling, blue-green, and canary releases.

Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Own monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of production incidents.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive improvements.

  • Maintain operational runbooks and best practices.

Database Operations

  • Administer AWS RDS/Aurora databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).

  • Perform performance tuning, backup/restore, upgrades, and disaster recovery testing.

  • Support database scaling and high availability.

Security & Automation

  • Implement infrastructure and pipeline security best practices.

  • Manage secrets, access controls, RBAC, MFA, and audit logging.

  • Automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, or Go.

Collaboration

  • Partner with software engineers to improve build, deployment, and operational processes.

  • Work closely with global DevOps teams to align with company standards and best practices.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles.

  • 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes production experience.

  • Strong experience supporting business-critical production systems.

  • Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure incidents.

  • Strong AWS expertise, including EKS, EC2, RDS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, and CloudWatch.

  • Solid Terraform or Infrastructure as Code experience.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and containerized environments.

  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or Loki.

  • Strong understanding of database administration and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).

  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS).

  • Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Envoy).

  • Experience in mobility, ride-hailing, logistics, delivery, or payment platforms.
