Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Lead the design of innovative energy and decarbonisation projects.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of the electrical design and delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects. Working across LV and HV systems, you'll play a key role in developing technically robust, commercially viable solutions that support our clients' net-zero ambitions.

You'll lead the design of electrical systems including transformers, CHP, solar PV, heat pumps, standby generation, battery storage and DNO connections, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to live operational environments.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading electrical design from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.

  • Producing and reviewing specifications, drawings and technical documentation.

  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and DNOs.

  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers across project teams.

  • Supporting the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects.

  • Ensuring designs meet all relevant regulations, standards and commercial requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience designing LV and HV electrical systems within energy, infrastructure, industrial or building services environments.

  • Knowledge of renewable and low-carbon technologies including solar PV, CHP, heat pumps and on-site generation.

  • Strong understanding of BS 7671, Building Regulations and industry standards.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving and project coordination skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with G99/G100 and DNO connection processes.

  • Background in decarbonisation, energy efficiency or renewable energy projects.

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.

  • Experience in healthcare, public sector or critical infrastructure environments.

If you're passionate about delivering sustainable energy solutions and want to influence the next generation of energy infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
