Senior Electrical Engineer – Landscape

Job Summary

Desert Group is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with strong landscape construction experience to manage and supervise electrical engineering works across landscape, irrigation, and outdoor development projects. The role involves coordinating electrical design, site execution, installation, testing, and commissioning while ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in landscape lighting, outdoor power distribution, irrigation pump systems, water features, and associated electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise electrical works for landscape construction and infrastructure projects.

• Oversee installation and commissioning of landscape lighting, outdoor lighting, decorative lighting, and street lighting systems.

• Coordinate electrical requirements for irrigation systems, pumps, fountains, water features, and associated plant rooms.

• Review electrical drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, load schedules, and material submittals.

• Coordinate with landscape architects, civil engineers, irrigation engineers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

• Supervise the installation of cables, conduits, distribution boards, control panels, earthing, and electrical protection systems.

• Ensure electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, relevant regulations, and authority requirements.

• Monitor site progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.

• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues, installation defects, and coordination clashes.

• Review shop drawings, method statements, inspection requests, material approvals, and testing documentation.

• Coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure timely availability of electrical materials and equipment.

• Monitor project costs, material usage, variations, and resource allocation.

• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, particularly for outdoor electrical installations and work near water features.

• Lead electrical testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and final handover.

• Provide technical guidance to electrical engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

• Coordinate with relevant authorities and ensure necessary electrical approvals are obtained where applicable.

• Prepare progress reports and maintain project records, inspection reports, and commissioning documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably including substantial UAE project experience.

• Proven experience in landscape construction projects is Mandatory

• Strong knowledge of landscape lighting, outdoor electrical installations, power distribution, cabling, and control systems.

• Experience with irrigation pumps, fountains, water features, and swimming pool electrical systems is an advantage.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and technical documents.

• Experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, testing, and commissioning.

• Knowledge of UAE electrical regulations and applicable authority requirements.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of project planning tools is an advantage.

• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• UAE Driving License is preferred/required.
