Senior Estimation Engineer - Mechanical

• Review tender documents, mechanical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contractual requirements to identify the scope of work and project requirements.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other associated mechanical services.

• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings using relevant estimation software and tools.

• Prepare material, labour, equipment, subcontractor, and installation cost estimates.

• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

• Prepare RFQs and follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain timely quotations.

• Analyse technical and commercial offers and prepare comparative statements for materials and subcontracted works.

• Develop labour productivity rates, installation rates, and project cost build-ups based on project requirements and historical cost data.

• Identify discrepancies, omissions, risks, and scope gaps in tender documents and raise technical and commercial clarifications.

• Coordinate with design, procurement, project management, planning, and commercial teams to ensure accurate tender pricing.

• Prepare tender summaries, cost breakdowns, inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and value engineering proposals.

• Evaluate alternative materials, systems, and installation methods to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or specifications.

• Assist in preparing tender submissions, commercial proposals, and supporting documents within the stipulated deadlines.

• Participate in tender review meetings and provide technical and commercial inputs during negotiations.

• Maintain a database of material prices, labour rates, supplier quotations, and historical project costs.

• Support project handover after tender award by providing detailed estimates, cost assumptions, and pricing breakdowns to the project execution team.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mechanical estimation and tendering within an MEP contracting company.

• Strong experience in preparing cost estimates for large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, airport, mall, or high-rise building projects.
