Senior Frontend Developer

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join a small, AI-native team building a personal AI assistant for knowledge workers.

This is an opportunity for an experienced frontend engineer who wants genuine ownership of the product. You’ll work across frontend engineering, product and design, making decisions about interactions and user experience rather than simply implementing finished specifications.

Responsibilities

• Own the frontend of the core product from concept through production

• Build fast, intuitive and polished user interfaces

• Make product and design decisions and prototype ideas quickly

• Develop reusable, maintainable React components

• Own features end-to-end, including frontend, backend routes and database changes when needed

• Identify and improve performance issues, including caching, refetching and network requests

• Build thoughtful loading, empty and error states and other details that create a polished user experience

• Work closely with a small, highly autonomous team and iterate based on user feedback

Requirements

• 4+ years of frontend engineering experience

• Strong React expertise, including state management, component lifecycle and reusable component design

• A portfolio demonstrating complex web applications you have shipped and that real users depend on

• Full-stack comfort and the ability to own features across the stack

• Strong product sense and design intuition

• Excellent attention to detail

• High autonomy and a low-ego approach

• US work authorization or eligibility for an O-1 visa

Nice to Have

• Experience building interfaces for LLM-based products

• Experience with multiplayer applications, Y.js, Automerge or CRDTs

• Experience with local-first architectures, service workers or synchronization strategies

• Design background or strong visual/product sense

• Previous experience as a founding frontend engineer

About the Team

You’ll be joining a 12–14 person AI-native startup based in San Francisco. The company has raised $30M in seed funding from leading investors, including Spark Capital, Felicis and Y Combinator.

The team includes former founders, CTOs and highly autonomous builders. Ownership and initiative are central to the way the team works.

European candidates may be considered for O-1 visa sponsorship.

Pay: $180,000.00 - $240,000.00 per year
