About the opportunity:

This Senior Fund Accountant role sits at the heart of our Retail Finance team, supporting a portfolio of unlisted retail funds and helping deliver the financial discipline that underpins Charter Hall’s long-term performance. From monthly reporting and variance analysis through to year-end statements, audit and tax requirements, this role helps ensure our investors, fund managers and internal teams have trusted, timely insights to make confident decisions.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail, partnering across the business and finding better ways to work - contributing to our broader strategy of accessing, deploying, managing and investing capital with discipline, insight and purpose.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Be close to the numbers and the business -

    this role is at the heart of the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle, preparing reporting packs, reconciliations, BAS, unit statements, distribution calculations and cashflow updates that help the Retail Finance team make confident, well-informed decisions.

  • Bring discipline and confidence to key reporting moments

    • from year-end financial statements through to audit, tax reviews, debt covenants and compliance certificates, this person will help ensure the fundamentals are delivered accurately on time and with care.
  • Partner with a broad group of stakeholders

    • the role touches Fund Managers, analysts, Property Accounting, Group Finance, Treasury, Tax, CoSec, auditors and external advisors, so there is a real opportunity to build trusted relationships and provide practical accounting and tax guidance where it matters.
  • Help lift the way the team works -

    beyond BAU, there is scope to improve processes, strengthen systems, support projects and contribute to a finance function that is always looking for smarter, more effective ways to deliver.

  • Make a visible contribution in a dynamic retail funds environment -

    with exposure to transactions, fund onboarding/offboarding and ad hoc projects, candidates who are proactive, curious and comfortable with pace can make an impact quickly.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Future focused capabilities including self-awareness, resilience, agility and generosity.

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills, initiative and an ability to prioritise.

  • CA (or equivalent) qualified.

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

  • General Purpose Financial Reporting experience required.

  • Strong accounting knowledge – AASB/IFRS (property specific not required).

  • Able to establish positive working relationships with stakeholders.

  • Takes responsibility and ownership for deliverables including projects/process improvements.

  • Flexible – willing to adapt to new systems or different reporting requirements

  • Strong attention to detail.
