Position Summary:

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is a senior technical contributor responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and operation of enterprise infrastructure platforms and services. This is a hands-on engineering role spanning compute, virtualization, storage, networking, public/private cloud, operating systems, automation, and supporting infrastructure services.

The ideal candidate can translate business and technical requirements into secure, resilient, scalable solutions and take those solutions from architecture and detailed design through implementation and operational handoff.

Essential Functions:

  • Architect, design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across data center, public cloud, and private cloud environments.

  • Develop technical architectures and detailed designs addressing availability, scalability, performance, security, connectivity, and disaster recovery.

  • Design and support enterprise Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, VRFs, routing, BGP, segmentation, and resilient network architectures.

  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot firewall security policies, security zones, NAT, VPNs, and network access controls.

  • Design and support connectivity between data centers, offices, cloud environments, remote sites, and service providers.

  • Engineer and support compute, virtualization, storage, operating systems, and container platforms.

  • Develop infrastructure automation using scripting, APIs, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Promote repeatable, declarative, and Git-based approaches to infrastructure configuration and deployment.

  • Design and maintain highly available infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and observability solutions.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues spanning systems, storage, networking, cloud, security, and applications; perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.

  • Develop infrastructure standards, reference architectures, technical diagrams, implementation plans, and operational documentation.

  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations based on technical requirements, security, cost, complexity, and operational impact.

  • Lead technical initiatives and design reviews while providing mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers.

  • Collaborate with security, application, database, development, architecture, and business teams to deliver infrastructure solutions.

Experience & Education Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of infrastructure, systems, cloud, network, platform, or related engineering experience.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with container orchestration and cloud-native infrastructure.

  • Experience with software-defined networking and storage.

  • Experience with GitOps, CI/CD, and Git-based infrastructure management.

  • Experience with advanced routing, multi-site networking, and hybrid cloud architectures.

  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.

  • Relevant cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, automation, or architecture certifications.

Location/Working Conditions:

  • Work is in the office Kennesaw, GA with hybrid opportunities.

  • Required Travel: Infrequent/Frequent/Not applicable.

Computer Software/Hardware Knowledge:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint

  • Outlook Exchange

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, talking & hearing constantly.

  • Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

  • Must be able to sit in front of computer monitor(s) daily.

  • Noise level: moderate noise level daily in an office atmosphere
