About Us

We are a construction-focused organization committed to delivering complex projects through design excellence, disciplined project management, quality assurance, commercial efficiency, and collaborative project delivery. Our distributed teams work across Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Quality, HSE, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers, Logistics, Administration, Information Technology, and Executive Leadership to create functional, aesthetically refined, sustainable, and technically coordinated environments that meet client expectations and project requirements.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead and coordinate interior design activities across commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, workplace, and other built-environment projects. The successful candidate will oversee concept development, space planning, material selection, design documentation, technical coordination, design reviews, and project delivery while ensuring that design solutions align with client objectives, project budgets, applicable building regulations, and construction requirements.

This role requires strong creative vision, technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to transform design concepts into practical, high-quality interior environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead interior design activities from initial briefing and concept development through detailed design, construction documentation, and project handover.

  • Develop creative and functional interior design concepts aligned with client requirements, project objectives, brand identity, and intended user experience.

  • Translate client briefs, operational requirements, design preferences, and spatial constraints into cohesive interior design proposals.

  • Establish design direction, visual themes, color palettes, material strategies, furniture concepts, and interior architectural language.

  • Prepare concept presentations, mood boards, material palettes, design narratives, sketches, and visual references.

  • Develop interior design solutions for residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, office, leisure, and mixed-use environments as required.

  • Evaluate design alternatives and recommend solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, maintainability, and cost.

  • Conduct space planning and develop efficient layouts that support circulation, accessibility, furniture placement, operational needs, and occupant comfort.

  • Prepare and review furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, partition plans, wall elevations, and interior detail drawings.

  • Ensure interior design proposals are coordinated with architectural layouts, structural conditions, building services, and other technical requirements.

  • Review existing site conditions, architectural drawings, surveys, photographs, and project information before developing design proposals.

  • Identify spatial constraints, design opportunities, potential clashes, and technical limitations that may affect project delivery.

  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure that interior design concepts integrate with the overall building design.

  • Develop detailed interior design packages that communicate design intent clearly to contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project stakeholders.

  • Prepare and review plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, specifications, and other technical documentation.

  • Ensure that drawings and specifications are accurate, coordinated, complete, and suitable for the relevant design and construction stage.

  • Review design documentation for consistency across drawings, schedules, material specifications, furniture selections, and project requirements.

  • Coordinate design revisions and ensure that approved changes are reflected consistently across all relevant documentation.

  • Maintain clear records of design decisions, revisions, approvals, outstanding comments, and technical clarifications.

  • Establish and maintain design standards, drawing conventions, presentation templates, material schedules, and documentation procedures.

  • Develop material and finish specifications for flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, joinery, decorative elements, fixtures, and other interior components.

  • Research and evaluate materials based on aesthetics, technical performance, durability, availability, maintenance requirements, and environmental impact.

  • Select finishes and materials that align with the approved design concept, project budget, performance requirements, and client expectations.

  • Prepare material boards, finish schedules, sample registers, and material specification packages for client and consultant review.

  • Coordinate material samples, mock-ups, product data sheets, technical submissions, and finish approvals with suppliers and contractors.

  • Review proposed material substitutions and assess their impact on design intent, quality, cost, lead time, and long-term performance.

  • Recommend alternative materials where necessary while maintaining the project's visual quality and technical integrity.

  • Support the use of sustainable, responsibly sourced, low-emission, and environmentally appropriate interior materials where practical.

  • Consider lifecycle costs, cleaning requirements, replacement availability, and maintenance access when selecting interior finishes.

  • Develop furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) concepts and specifications that meet functional, ergonomic, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements.

  • Prepare furniture layouts, furniture schedules, equipment lists, and FF&E specification documents.

  • Research furniture manufacturers, suppliers, product ranges, finishes, dimensions, lead times, and technical characteristics.

  • Evaluate furniture and fixture options against project requirements, procurement constraints, and design objectives.

  • Coordinate custom furniture, bespoke joinery, decorative fixtures, and specialist interior elements with manufacturers and fabricators.

  • Review shop drawings, fabrication details, and material samples for custom furniture and joinery.

  • Ensure furniture selections support circulation, accessibility, occupant comfort, operational workflows, and space utilization.

  • Coordinate with Procurement teams to obtain quotations, compare supplier proposals, verify product specifications, and support purchasing decisions.

  • Ensure that selected materials, furniture, fixtures, and fittings align with approved budgets and procurement schedules.

  • Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising essential design quality, functionality, or safety.

  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates and design-related quantity schedules to support budgeting and cost planning.

  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors, Cost Consultants, Commercial teams, and Procurement to monitor interior design costs.

  • Review cost estimates, supplier quotations, and proposed design changes to assess financial implications.

  • Recommend design alternatives that improve cost efficiency, material utilization, installation productivity, and lifecycle value.

  • Monitor the effect of design development on procurement lead times, construction sequencing, and project milestones.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure design deliverables are completed according to agreed schedules.

  • Develop and maintain interior design deliverable registers, review schedules, decision logs, and outstanding-action trackers.

  • Identify design-related risks, dependencies, approval delays, and information gaps that could affect project progress.

  • Participate in project meetings, design workshops, coordination sessions, and client presentations.

  • Present design concepts, technical proposals, material selections, and design recommendations clearly to clients and senior stakeholders.

  • Incorporate client feedback into design revisions while maintaining consistency with approved project objectives and commercial constraints.

  • Manage multiple design packages and priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
