We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. The role supports Engineering, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing and customer-facing activities across the EMEA business. The successful candidate will lead the development of customer-focused mechanical solutions, deliver engineering projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance, safety, quality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement innovative mechanical solutions for customers and internal stakeholders.

• Review and respond to customer and sales enquiries for new or modified product designs, including technical specifications, applications, configurations and design requirements.

• Develop conceptual and detailed product designs, including cost estimates, project timelines, manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.

• Provide technical guidance and support to Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and customer-facing teams.

• Conduct engineering analysis, validation and testing of new and modified designs to support product approvals and certifications.

• Support new product introduction and transfer activities from development through to manufacturing.

• Coordinate engineering projects, contractor activities and improvement initiatives while monitoring cost, schedule and resource utilisation.

• Drive process improvement, productivity enhancement and harmonisation initiatives across sites, business units and affiliates.

• Maintain and develop product certifications through collaboration with regulatory bodies, suppliers and operations teams.

• Participate in customer and supplier engagements, providing technical expertise and engineering support as required.

• Prepare technical reports, project updates and status summaries for management review.

• Contribute to global Engineering and Operations initiatives and support plant projects as business needs require.

Qualifications & Experience

• Honours Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or Design Engineering, or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally involving precision deformation of metals & alloys or related technologies.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or equivalent, with working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.

• Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, dimensioning practices and mechanical design principles.

• Experience delivering engineering projects from concept through implementation.

• Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment is desirable.

• Exposure to FEA, DOE and project management tools would be advantageous.
