Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all mechanical engineering activities related to HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, and other MEP systems for electro-mechanical contracting projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with client specifications, local authority regulations, and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Execution

• Lead and supervise all mechanical works from project initiation to handover.

• Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and contract documents.

• Plan, monitor, and control site activities to ensure project milestones are achieved.

• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.

• Monitor project progress and prepare weekly and monthly reports.

Engineering & Technical Responsibilities

• Review and approve mechanical design drawings and shop drawings.

• Verify material submittals and technical compliance with project requirements.

• Conduct technical evaluations and recommend suitable construction methods.

• Resolve technical issues encountered during project execution.

• Ensure compliance with local authority standards and international engineering codes.

Site Supervision

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and safety compliance.

• Monitor subcontractor performance and workmanship.

• Coordinate site activities with electrical, civil, and architectural teams.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all mechanical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Implement QA/QC procedures throughout project execution.

• Participate in inspections conducted by consultants and authorities.

• Review and maintain project documentation, records, and as-built drawings.

Cost Control & Procurement

• Assist in project budgeting and cost control activities.

• Review material requirements and procurement schedules.

• Evaluate suppliers and subcontractor quotations.

• Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Testing & Commissioning

• Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.

• Ensure smooth project handover and submission of operation and maintenance manuals.

• Coordinate final inspections and snag rectifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical Contracting, preferably in the UAE/GCC.

• Proven experience in large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, and Mechanical Systems.

• Familiarity with UAE authority regulations and approvals.

• Membership in a recognized engineering institution is an advantage.

Experience Requirement

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical Contracting with extensive knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, Testing & Commissioning, and Project Management activities.

Pay: Up to AED15,000.00 per month
