The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Mobile Developer/Engineer. This individual will be an integral part of the advanced engineering team and will work with the latest technologies to create first-class mobile user experiences for our consumer and OEM audio products. This role will have a high sense of ownership in the product since it will involve many aspects of design and validation from inception through launch. This position will interact with multiple groups within the organization including engineering, new product development, marketing and technical support as well as interface with OEM customers.

The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented, tenacious problem solver with deep expertise in cross-platform mobile development and a broad full-stack technology background. They must thrive in a small, collaborative team environment and be fully committed to working onsite at our Tempe headquarters.

Job Responsibilities

Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality cross-platform mobile applications for both Android and iOS using React Native, including creating Native Components and Native Modules for platform-specific functionality.

• Architect scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions that align with business requirements and long-term product strategy.

• Help define user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) in collaboration with product, design, and engineering stakeholders.

• Develop and integrate backend services and APIs using Python and C#.

• Evaluate latest tech stacks and emerging technologies to inform product feature roadmaps and technical direction.

Data & Infrastructure

• Design, implement, and optimize SQL and NoSQL database schemas, queries, and procedures to manage application data, inventory data ingestion, and reporting needs.

• Build and maintain data pipelines, data tables, and CI/CD pipelines to support application functionality, testing, and deployment across both platforms.

• Work with audio and automotive audio inventory providers to ensure seamless integration of equipment data into mobile applications.

• Work with software testers to create automated tests and continuous integration.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Create, prioritize, and estimate product backlog items to meet milestones and release targets.

• Collaborate with engineering managers, QA engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver releases on schedule.

• Efficiently identify, reproduce, and resolve customer-reported issues.

• Lead multiple software projects and provide technical oversight, training, and mentoring to other developers.

• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code; prepare technical documentation including architecture diagrams, API docs, and how-to articles.

• Provide world-class customer service to our internal and external clients.

Job Qualifications

Mobile & Frontend

• 5+ years of professional mobile development experience with shipped Android and iOS applications.

• Strong proficiency in React Native, JavaScript, Redux, and Redux Saga.

• Demonstrated ability to author Native Components and Native Modules.

• Experience with native device features such as Bluetooth, camera, and networking.

• Familiarity with platform APIs, permissions models, and app store submission for both Google Play and Apple App Store.

Backend & Data

• Proficiency in Python for backend services, scripting, automation, and data processing.

• Experience with C# for backend or service-layer development.

• Strong SQL skills including complex queries and stored procedures.

• Experience with NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Firebase/Firestore, Cosmos DB).

• Experience building and managing data pipelines and data tables for application data flow and reporting.

Process & Tools

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile deployment (e.g., Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Bitrise).

• Proficiency with Git version control and industry-standard IDEs (VS Code, Xcode, Android Studio).

• Experience working in Agile Scrum, Kanban, or similar development processes.

General

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive, analytical approach and high tenacity for resolving complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

• Self-motivated, self-learning, and able to lead projects with minimal guidance.

• Must be committed to working onsite at Tempe HQ in a small-team environment.

Education

One of the following:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited university.

2. Advanced technical education from a recognized program.

3. Demonstrated technical knowledge and equivalent work experience.

Bonus Points

Technical

• Experience creating web applications using React or cross-platform desktop applications using Electron.

• Experience developing web backends using Node/Express or equivalent.

• Experience with Java/Kotlin (Android) or Swift/Objective-C (iOS) for native development.

• Experience with graphic design and wireframing.

• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project management tools.

• Experience with additional state management libraries (MobX, Zustand).

• Experience with GraphQL, RESTful API design, or real-time data technologies (WebSockets, MQTT, BLE).

• Knowledge of automated test and continuous integration frameworks, including Selenium.

• Knowledge of relational database design using Oracle or equivalent.

Domain

• Knowledge of audio and/or digital signal processing.
