Senior Network Security Engineer

First.tech Group is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer – Network & Security to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise infrastructure.

This role is ideal for a seasoned technical professional with strong expertise in enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure, who can take ownership of critical infrastructure operations, strengthen security controls, and ensure high availability across business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Architecture & Infrastructure

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.

• Ensure network availability, performance, scalability, and resilience through proactive monitoring and optimization.

• Manage network devices, server room infrastructure, upgrades, patching, backups, and lifecycle management.

• Design high-availability, network segmentation, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

• Provide Level 3 technical support, troubleshoot complex incidents, and lead root cause analysis.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

• Manage and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, endpoint protection, WAF, DDoS protection, SIEM, DLP, MFA, and encryption solutions.

• Implement security best practices, including Zero Trust, SASE, and identity-based access controls.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate penetration testing, and drive remediation activities.

• Investigate and respond to security incidents, strengthening incident response and recovery procedures.

• Support security compliance and audits aligned with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and PCI DSS.

Cloud Security & Disaster Recovery

• Design and secure cloud networking environments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP.

• Support cloud infrastructure components, including VPCs, EC2, S3, load balancing, and availability zones.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with IT, cloud, and application teams to deliver secure infrastructure solutions.

• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and security standards.

• Work with vendors and service providers to manage SLAs, evaluate technologies, and improve service delivery.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while identifying opportunities to enhance infrastructure reliability and security.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise networking and security engineering.

• Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise networking technologies, such as Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent.

• Experience managing enterprise firewalls, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or similar platforms.

• Proficiency with network monitoring and SIEM tools, such as SolarWinds and Splunk.

• Solid understanding of security protocols and technologies, including TLS, IPsec, Zero Trust, and SASE.

• Experience with cloud networking and security across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, manage security incidents, and support disaster recovery planning.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent industry certifications.
