Senior Product Manager, Payments
ManageGo
Job description
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager with deep, hands-on experience building and managing payment products and payment platform integrations. This individual will own strategic and day-to-day product responsibilities across payment workflows, including credit and debit card processing, ACH, MoneyGram, lockbox services, and other online and alternative payment methods. The ideal candidate combines strong payments-domain expertise with senior-level product leadership, technical fluency, and the ability to drive execution across Product, Engineering, Design, QA, Operations, Finance, and external payment partners.
What Youโll Own
-
Own the product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and execution for payment capabilities across the platform.
-
Lead payment initiatives from discovery through launch, including requirements definition, business rules, UX flows, technical dependencies, testing, rollout, and post-launch optimization.
-
Drive improvements to payment acceptance, conversion, reliability, reconciliation, exception handling, refunds, reversals, returns, disputes, and resident/customer payment experiences.
-
Manage and evolve integrations with payment processors, banks, gateways, third-party payment networks, lockbox providers, MoneyGram or similar cash-payment services, and other financial technology partners.
-
Partner closely with Engineering and Architecture to define scalable, secure payment workflows, APIs, data flows, and integration patterns.
-
Work with Finance, Operations, Support, and Compliance stakeholders to ensure payment products support accurate settlement, reconciliation, reporting, controls, and operational processes.
-
Use product data, transaction trends, customer feedback, support issues, and market insights to identify friction points and prioritize improvements.
-
Translate complex payment concepts and technical constraints into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder communications.
-
Coordinate cross-functional delivery using Agile/Scrum practices and maintain clear ownership of scope, dependencies, risks, and launch readiness.
-
Serve as a subject-matter expert for payments across the organization and help establish best practices for payment product development.
Payments Experience โ Required
This role requires substantial prior experience working directly with payment products, payment platforms, or payment processing ecosystems. Candidates should be comfortable discussing both customer-facing payment experiences and the underlying operational and technical workflows.
-
Credit and debit card payments, including authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks/disputes, tokenization, and card-on-file experiences.
-
ACH payments, including account validation, returns, settlement timing, payment status handling, and exception workflows.
-
Cash or alternative payment channels such as MoneyGram or comparable bill-payment networks.
-
Lockbox payment processing, including remittance data, exception handling, matching, posting, and reconciliation.
-
Online payment methods and digital payment experiences, including one-time payments, scheduled payments, recurring/autopay workflows, and stored payment methods.
-
Payment processor, gateway, banking, or fintech integrations using APIs, webhooks, batch files, or other transaction-processing mechanisms.
-
Payment reconciliation, settlement reporting, transaction lifecycle management, and troubleshooting of payment failures or discrepancies.
-
Understanding of payment security, risk, fraud, compliance, and control considerations relevant to payment products.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful senior-level ownership of complex software products or platforms.
-
Extensive experience in payments, payment processing, fintech, banking technology, transaction platforms, or a SaaS product with significant payment functionality.
-
Demonstrated ability to own complex product initiatives end-to-end and make sound prioritization decisions across customer, business, technical, and operational needs.
-
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience partnering closely with Engineering, QA, Design, and other technical teams.
-
Experience writing clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and launch plans.
-
Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence; experience with Figma or comparable product/design collaboration tools.
-
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with transactional data, payment metrics, operational reporting, and root-cause analysis.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payment and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to influence without relying solely on formal authority.
Bonus / Preferred Experience
-
Bonus: Experience with property management software, property management technology, rent or resident payment workflows, or the broader property management / real estate industry.
-
Experience working with multiple payment processors, acquiring banks, sponsor banks, gateways, or payment orchestration platforms.
-
Familiarity with PCI-related product considerations, NACHA/ACH operating concepts, fraud/risk tooling, and payment compliance requirements.
-
Experience modernizing legacy payment workflows or migrating payment integrations to newer platforms or APIs.
-
Experience building B2B2C or multi-tenant SaaS products where payment behavior varies by customer, property, account, or configuration.
Work Environment
-
This is a hybrid role with a strong in-office collaboration expectation.
-
The successful candidate should expect to work from the office a minimum of three days per week.
-
Additional in-office presence may occasionally be required for planning sessions, launches, partner meetings, or other business needs.
What Success Looks Like

-
The team has clear visibility into payment performance, failure points, reconciliation issues, and opportunities for optimization.
-
External payment partners and internal stakeholders are managed effectively, with risks and dependencies surfaced early.
-
The Senior Product Manager becomes a trusted internal authority on payments and helps shape the long-term payment strategy for the platform.
Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a base salary of $140,000โ$170,000 plus a KPI-based bonus tied to clear and achievable goals.
-
Comprehensive health insurance (including vision and dental coverage).
-

-
Generous time off, including multiple company-wide holidays when the office is closed.
