Job description
Recognized as the No. 1 site trusted by real estate professionals, Realtor.com® has been at the forefront of online real estate for over 25 years, connecting buyers, sellers, and renters with trusted insights and expert guidance to find their perfect home. Through its robust suite of tools, Realtor.com® not only makes a significant impact on the real estate industry at large, but for consumers, navigating the biggest purchase they will make in their life, by providing a user experience that is easy to use, easy to understand, and most of all, easy to make decisions.
Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance.
Realtor.com runs on infrastructure most consumers and agents never see: the pipeline that turns a raw inquiry into a delivered lead, and the backend systems that power agent tools, premium client accounts, and internal operations. Both are business-critical, both are technically deep, and both need a PM who can make architecture-level decisions, not just a roadmap.
This role covers one of two adjacent platform domains, depending on fit: Lead Ingestion & Delivery (the pipeline from consumer inquiry to verified, delivered contact) or Focus Fire Platform (the legacy backend behind agent tools, premium client accounts, and internal operations, on a phased migration path). In both cases, you're the product owner for infrastructure that clients and internal teams depend on daily, and you're expected to make prioritization calls with incomplete data, surface risk explicitly, and defend a technical roadmap against both engineering constraints and revenue pressure.
The right candidate has a strong systems mindset, is comfortable working deep in technical architecture (APIs, webhooks, data contracts), and has a track record of shipping or migrating reliable, scalable infrastructure with minimal disruption to live customers.
What You'll Do:
Own a Technical Domain End to End
-
Define product strategy for your domain: lead ingestion, validation, spam prevention, and multi-channel delivery, or the Focus Fire backend feature audit and migration.
-
Partner closely with engineering on API and webhook design, system architecture, and data contracts, at a level of depth that lets you independently spot structural risk.
-
Set and own measurable targets (SLAs, migration-cohort readiness, escalation volume) and drive the roadmap to hit them.
Manage Legacy Complexity and Consolidation
-
Lead consolidation or migration efforts that unify fragmented legacy services into a single maintainable platform, sequenced as feature audit, thin-slice POC, and phased cutover.
-
Resolve production issues (delivery failures, cross-system sync gaps, data-quality problems) through data-driven prioritization.
-
Write briefs with explicit hypotheses, objectives, and key results for each phase of a migration or platform build-out.
Customer and Internal Enablement
-
Build customer-facing or internal-facing documentation, integration guides, and technical references that let stakeholders self-serve.
-
Translate client or internal team requirements (CRM integrations, account/billing workflows, delivery preferences) into clear product requirements.
-
Partner with customer success, sales, or internal operations teams to represent their needs in the roadmap.
Cross-functional Leadership
-
Serve as the primary product owner for a dedicated engineering team: sprint ceremonies, backlog, blockers.
-
Collaborate with data, analytics, and operations teams to define success metrics and monitor system health in production.
-
Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs, and status clearly to senior stakeholders and revenue leadership.
What You'll Bring:
Required
-
8+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years owning infrastructure, platform, data pipeline products, or backend migration products.
-
Demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering on API and Webhook design, system architecture, and integration patterns.
-
Experience defining and managing against SLAs in a production environment.
-
Strong analytical skills, comfortable using data to diagnose delivery issues, prioritize work, and measure impact.
-
Track record of successfully consolidating or migrating services with minimal disruption to internal and external customers.
-
Excellent written communication skills, including experience producing technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
Preferred
-
Experience in real estate, proptech, or marketplace businesses.
-
Familiarity with CRM systems and the integration patterns commonly used to connect them (webhooks, custom formatters).
-
Background in spam detection, lead quality, or consumer data validation.
