We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant with expertise in commercial real estate accounting and proficiency in Yardi property management software. Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.

Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and rent roll reconciliations using Yardi software to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger account analysis to maintain financial integrity.

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries with precision, utilizing Excel functions and data analysis tools for enhanced reporting accuracy.

Collaborate with property managers, leasing teams, and external auditors to facilitate audit processes and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Support financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
Experience

Proven experience in commercial real estate accounting or related fields with a strong understanding of real estate financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial report writing.

Extensive hands-on experience with Yardi property management software and similar financial software platforms such as Excel or QuickBooks.

Demonstrated expertise in GAAP compliance, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting standards including securities law and governmental accounting where applicable.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel—for data analysis, spreadsheet management, and financial modeling.

Excellent analytical skills combined with a solid understanding of accrual accounting principles, forecast modeling, and general ledger reconciliation processes.

Prepare annual CAM/NNN reconciliations and tenant reconciliations

Review lease terms and ensure accurate accounting and tenant billing in accordance with lease provisions

Perform monthly bank reconciliations

Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations

Maintain general ledger accuracy and investigate discrepancies
