Functional Position Summary:
The Senior QA Automation Engineer will drive automation strategy and quality engineering initiatives by developing robust Playwright/Python automation frameworks, implementing AI-assisted testing solutions, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Essential Functions:

Lead the planning, designing and executing of quality assurance testing within the Credit Union, including the care and maintenance of a test script library.

Review functional and design specifications to ensure that there is a full understanding of individual deliverables. Work with the PMO team to ensure appropriate testing coverage and input on any functional/requirement gaps.

Lead the tracking of defects through the entire defect lifecycle and work with business owners to triage bugs and manage the bug backlog. Collaborate with the development team on bug fix reviews, verification and validation.

Lead a variety of testing including functional testing, regressing testing, load testing and user acceptance testing both manually and with automated tools.

Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright & Python.

Create and maintain automated tests for API, UI, and end-to-end business workflows.

Analyze test results, troubleshoot defects, and provide recommendations to improve application quality.

Participate in efforts to identify new strategies, efficiencies and standards to streamline and improve the quality assurance process.

Mentor other members of the team. Provide constructive feedback to the team and update the immediate supervisor on progress of mentoring efforts.

Participate in the evaluation of product automation tools, systems and processes following established standards.

Oversee the documentation and reporting of testing results and quality assurance plans. Offer observations or improvements after analysis of test results and overall product quality. Provide feedback and risk assessment on potential defects.

Adherence to policies, procedures and documentation standards.

Conduct reviews, assessments and audits to ensure the results delivered by the quality assurance team meet the department standards.

Ensures validated deliverables meet functional, design specifications and requirements of the software/products.

Ensure work is effectively categorized into manageable tasks that can be included and tracked in an agile framework methodology. Oversee the teams assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Effectively communicates the status of quality assurance testing processes to immediate supervisor and key stakeholders and raises issues when necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 4-6 years of experience with quality assurance in a technical setting.

3+ years of hands-on Playwright automation experience

Strong Python programming skills
-
Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch

Experience with AI tools, Claude Agents, MCP, and AI-assisted test automation

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab/GitHub, and Agile methodologies
-
Strong understanding of API, UI, and End-to-End (E2E) test automation
-
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.
