Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement comprehensive QA strategies, test methodologies, and master test plans for large-scale e-Services and platform migrations.

• Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), User Stories, and Technical Architecture blueprints to design detailed, high-coverage test cases and verification scenarios.

• Create and maintain the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure 100% test coverage across all functional business rules, lookups, and system logic.

• Lead the validation of multi-channel workflows, ensuring that transactions initialized from various client facing channels run smoothly with correct tracking.

• Execute thorough functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing cycles.

• Track, log, and prioritize defects inside project management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira, detailing step-by-step reproduction flows, severity levels, and logs.

• Monitor defect remediation, coordinate re-testing phases with engineering leads, and manage bug-triage sessions.

• Build, maintain, and scale automated testing frameworks for both the presentation layer (UI) and backend services.

• Conduct extensive API testing (validating JSON payloads, status codes, and error boundaries) using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or automated REST clients.

• Validate data integrity, data flows, and schema updates directly within relational databases (e.g., Oracle 19c, MS SQL) using complex SQL verification scripts.

• Coordinate and provide technical support to business users during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase, helping them log defects properly.

• Consolidate and prepare formal UAT and QA Readiness Reports, outlining test execution metrics, blockages, and open risks to support production Go/No-Go decisions.

• Validate features on staging environments and support post-production smoke-testing during structured deployment windows.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with automated UI testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress) using TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, or Java.

• Professional certificates: ISTQB CTFL, ISTQB CTAL, ISTQB Agile Tester, or ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, Microsoft Azure and Agile/Scrum certifications are also desirable.

• Deep proficiency in Postman (including script automation) and strong capabilities in writing advanced SQL queries for database verification.

• Familiarity with performance testing tools like Apache JMeter or modern load-testing frameworks.

• Solid experience with test management and bug tracking ecosystems, particularly Azure DevOps (Azure Test Plans) or Jira.

• Exceptionally meticulous eye for detail with a highly structured, analytical mindset.

• Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to articulate technical defects objectively to developers and summary metrics to managers.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Years of Experience Minimum of 5 years of professional software testing experience, with at least 3 years operating as a Senior QA engineer verifying web portals, transactional applications, or government e-Services.
