Jobgether
Job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in software quality within a highly collaborative, cross-functional Agile engineering environment. You will help shape the quality of product releases by building reliable, scalable automated testing solutions. Your work will span functional, API, integration, UI, system, and regression testing, with a strong focus on automation and continuous delivery. You will partner closely with Platform, Product, DevOps, QA, and engineering teams to strengthen defect detection and prevention throughout the development lifecycle. The role combines hands-on technical execution with participation in code reviews, technical planning, and architectural decisions. As part of a remote-first environment, you will contribute to improving development processes while helping deliver dependable, high-quality software at scale.
Accountabilities:
-
Develop and maintain automated and functional test scripts and tooling covering functional, system, API, integration, UI, and regression testing.
-
Design reliable and scalable automated test cases that strengthen software quality and improve the speed and effectiveness of defect detection and prevention.
-
Collaborate closely with Platform, Product, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams to deploy and execute automated tests across test environments through CI/CD pipelines.
-
Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and delivery workflows to support efficient, repeatable, and high-quality software releases.
-
Provide timely and actionable test-result feedback to Platform, QA, and other relevant stakeholders, helping teams identify and resolve quality issues early.
-
Create comprehensive test coverage for edge cases, negative scenarios, compatibility requirements, and concurrency behavior.
-
Explore existing codebases and technical implementations to develop a deeper understanding of system behavior and identify appropriate testing strategies.
-
Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and architectural discussions, contributing quality-focused perspectives to engineering decisions.
-
Work with relational databases and large datasets to validate application behavior, data integrity, and backend processing.
-
Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tooling, automation coverage, and software development practices.
Requirements:
-
Bring at least 4 years of professional, hands-on experience in test automation, with strong expertise in API and UI automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Mocha, Jest, or JUnit.
-
Have professional experience with at least one programming language, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.
-
Demonstrate practical knowledge of React, including the ability to work with elements such as data-test IDs to support effective automated testing.
-
Have experience working with CI/CD tools and workflows such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
-
Possess a strong understanding of scalable system design for web-based APIs and backend processing systems.
-
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of QA methodologies within software organizations operating with short and frequent release cycles.
-
Have experience developing comprehensive test cases using test case management tools such as TestRail, including coverage for edge cases, negative scenarios, compatibility, and concurrency.
-
Bring experience working with relational databases and strong hands-on SQL skills, including the ability to query and analyze large datasets.
-
Be comfortable investigating codebases and using technical tools to understand implementation details and translate them into effective testing strategies.
-
Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and product functions.
-
Be able to operate independently in a remote-first environment while contributing effectively to a collaborative, cross-functional team.
Benefits:
-
U.S. base salary range of $120,000–$165,000 USD, with final compensation determined by factors including experience, technical skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, organizational needs, and budget alignment.
-
