Hybrid Open to Remote - Must be EST Hours in Charlotte, NC

Our client seeks a Senior Software Developer to build automation and monitoring solutions supporting data and transport networks. You will design, develop, and maintain Django applications and RESTful APIs, deploy and operate containerized services, and implement CI/CD with GitHub Actions. You will collaborate within an agile team, pair program, and coach peers while partnering with network architects and support teams to refine technical, security, and business requirements. You will contribute to reliable automation with appropriate safeguards, documentation, and knowledge transfer, and you will help configure observability with Grafana and Prometheus and develop GIS-based network topology visualizations.

Rate: $70.00 to $75.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Django applications and RESTful APIs.
Deploy and maintain container solutions for new and existing applications.
Implement testing strategies with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Construct and overlay network topology maps with GIS visualizations.
Configure alerts and dashboards using Grafana and Prometheus.
Partner with teammates to deliver automated solutions for data and transport networks.
Manage sprint tasks, identify issues, develop solutions, and resolve defects with minimal supervision.
Pair program and coach developers. Communicate progress and risks to product owners and team members.
Support automated provisioning, upgrades, configuration management, and orchestration.
Maintain end user and developer documentation. Lead knowledge transfer sessions.
Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve operational efficiency.

Experience Requirements

Effective in a Scrum of Scrums, team-based environment with strong customer and results orientation.
Ability to research independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
Strong programming and scripting expertise in Python and Bash.
Ability to perform code reviews in Python and other languages such as Java, GoLang, and C/C++ without the use of AI.
Strong knowledge of Django ORM and Celery.
Hands-on experience with Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform.
Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Working knowledge of Postgres.
Desired: Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and networking concepts including TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, and OSPF.
Desired: Exposure to monitoring and observability tools and API-driven network management.
Desired: Proficiency with Kubernetes.
