Role Overview

We are building out an AI Innovation Lab focused on rapidly prototyping and scaling intelligent solutions. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Java Developer who thrives in fast-moving, experimental environments and can take ideas from concept to production.

This role requires a self-driven, end-to-end engineer who can hit the ground running and operate with minimal supervision, delivering both prototypes and production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-driven prototypes rapidly

• Own end-to-end delivery across backend, frontend, and infrastructure

• Develop backend services using Java (17–25) and Spring Boot

• Build UI components using Angular

• Integrate AI services and APIs

• Design REST APIs and distributed systems

• Work with SQL Server databases

• Deploy to GCP using Kubernetes and containers

• Implement event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub)

• Optimise performance and refine prototypes into production-ready solutions

• Contribute to architecture and technical direction

• Mentor other engineers as the team grows

Key Skills and Experience

• 7+ years Java experience (Java 17+ preferred)

• Strong Spring Boot and microservices experience

• Full stack experience including Angular

• Kubernetes and Docker

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• CI/CD and DevOps practices

• SQL Server or similar database expertise

• Distributed systems design

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Desirable Skills

• AI/ML integration experience

• LLMs or prompt engineering exposure

• Event streaming systems

• Elastic/Kibana observability

• Innovation or greenfield project experience

• Token minimalism
