Senior Software Engineer (AI & App Experience)

• We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our team and help build Jade, Chime’s AI-powered financial assistant

• As a senior engineer on this team, you’ll work across the full breadth of what it takes to bring an AI product to life — from designing new agent capabilities and conversation experiences to building the eval frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems that ensure Jade is reliable and safe for millions of members

• You’ll shape how Jade reasons, acts, and improves over time

• You’ll build member-facing capabilities that help people manage their spending, stay on top of subscriptions, and hit their financial goals

• You’ll also develop internal tools, dashboards, and backend services for model routing, prompt management, agent orchestration, and evaluation pipelines

• The AI landscape evolves rapidly, and so does Jade

• You’ll need to learn quickly, adapt to shifting priorities, and proactively identify what’s needed next — whether that’s a new financial capability, a better way to test conversations, or a system to keep quality high as we scale

• Design, build, and scale new capabilities for Jade, Chime’s AI-powered financial assistant

• Develop agent architectures, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns that shape how Jade reasons and acts

• Build eval frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems that let the team ship with speed and confidence

• Partner cross-functionally to solve member pain points and deliver secure, scalable solutions

• Improve system reliability through performance tuning and architectural enhancements

• Contribute to technical design and maintain high standards across the codebase through code reviews and mentorship

• Bring curiosity and initiative to explore how things work and how they can work better

• 5+ years of backend software development experience in production environments

• A strong focus on writing maintainable, well-tested code

• Familiarity with architectural patterns in high-scale systems
