Job Description
Summary:
The Pyxis ES Development team is looking for Software Engineers to join a high-performing, collaborative development organization.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in enterprise software environments and enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Candidates should have experience with Go or Java and/or modern web technologies such as React, Node.js, Spring, or Ruby. They should thrive in fast-paced Agile environments, contribute effectively within high-performing teams, and demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and team success.
Preferred experience includes containerization technologies, security and authentication frameworks such as TLS/PKI and OAuth 2.0, messaging platforms including Kafka and RabbitMQ, and relational databases such as SQL Server and MySQL. Experience implementing monitoring, observability, systems management, and centralized logging solutions is also highly desirable.
Successful candidates will have experience designing and supporting microservices-based architecture across both on-premises and cloud-native environments. They possess strong written and verbal communication skills, work effectively within diverse and collaborative teams, and maintain a customer-focused mindset. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:

Perform software design and implementation, following coding guidelines and considering system characteristics to produce optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability

Conduct software evaluation and testing of own software, software from other engineering staff, and third-party software

Provide technical documentation for the design, implementation and testing of the software

Attend design review meetings as needed to adhere to the software development procedures

Document and repair errors related to software
-
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops

Work with cross-functional project teams to complete Product Engineering projects with minimal guidance

Develop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team members
-
Work with source code management tools (e.g. Github) and work tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a S.T.E.M related field.
-
5 years of growing responsibility in Research & Development roles, with emphasis in coding experience (Python, Java, Go, C, C++, C# etc.)

Experience with multiple database implementations (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, non-relational databases)
-
Willingness to travel up to 10% or less (domestic and international).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience operating in agile development environments

Experience with healthcare environments

Experience with cloud-based technologies from public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCF, Azure).

Experience with REST architecture

Experience with RPC protocols

Experience with Container orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)

Experience with Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi)
