Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle from concept and design to testing and deployment. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver robust, maintainable, and high-performance applications. Your technical leadership will help drive best practices, code quality, and innovation across the team. You will be expected to take ownership of complex features, communicate technical trade-offs clearly, and contribute to the overall technical roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable server-side and client-side code.

• Lead architectural discussions and contribute to technical design documents.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, scope, and estimate new features.

• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code, following industry best practices (e.g., design patterns, CI/CD).

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor mid-level and junior engineers.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and security.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and proactively propose improvements to the tech stack.

• Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or Node.js) and one frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).

• Architecture: Solid understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and database design (SQL and NoSQL).

• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Testing: Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end).

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication (verbal and written in English), and the ability to work independently and in a team.

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Nice-to-Have: Experience with real-time systems, data streaming (Kafka), or big data technologies. Familiarity with modern authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT). Prior experience working in the fintech, e-commerce, or logistics sectors. Knowledge of Arabic (spoken) is a plus but not required.
