This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Networking based in the United States.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role focused on evolving a global cloud networking platform at scale.

You’ll architect and build reliable, secure networking capabilities that underpin modern cloud infrastructure.

The role spans VPCs, routing, security, network orchestration, and control/data plane development.

You’ll work across engineering teams to turn complex networking requirements into scalable production systems.

You’ll also contribute to prototyping, observability, modernization, and production incident response.

The environment is highly technical, fast-moving, and focused on performance, automation, and infrastructure innovation.

It’s an opportunity to shape foundational networking technology used by customers around the world.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of next-generation cloud networking capabilities, including VPCs, security groups, gateways, and routing domains.

  • Develop and evolve control-plane and data-plane functionality, including network orchestration and integration with broader infrastructure services.

  • Manage and improve networking services such as BGP peering, tenant isolation, routing, and network policy enforcement.

  • Prototype, test, and validate new networking capabilities under realistic, large-scale operating conditions.

  • Extend the cloud control plane to integrate advanced networking functionality and improve platform capabilities.

  • Support production networking systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and participate in incident response when required.

  • Contribute to network automation, observability, security, and the modernization of legacy infrastructure.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering peers and leadership to establish technical direction and deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, network engineering, cloud infrastructure, hosting, or a closely related environment.

  • Strong experience with virtual networking in public or private clouds, SDN, and technologies such as VXLAN/EVPN.

  • Deep knowledge of BGP, Layer 2/Layer 3 routing, Linux networking, and Kubernetes networking.

  • Experience with network automation and observability practices for production-scale infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in Go or Rust; familiarity with PHP and SQL is a plus.

  • Experience with high-performance networking hardware such as Broadcom DNX, XGS, DPUs, or SmartNICs is valuable.

  • Knowledge of network security, multi-tenant firewalls, or related isolation and policy-enforcement technologies is advantageous.

  • Experience modernizing legacy systems or working within a cloud provider, hyperscaler, or large-scale infrastructure environment is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to engineering teams and leadership.

  • Ability to work hands-on while taking ownership of architectural decisions, technical delivery, reliability, and operational outcomes.

Benefits

  • Salary: $128,000–$145,000, with final compensation based on experience, background, skills, location, and applicable laws.

  • Healthcare: 100% company-paid medical premiums for the employee-only plan, plus fully company-paid dental and vision premiums.

  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with a 100% company match on contributions up to 4%, with immediate vesting.

  • Professional development: Up to $2,500 per year for professional development reimbursement.

  • Time off: 11 paid holidays plus accrued PTO with a rollover plan.

  • Long-term tenure rewards: Increased PTO at 3- and 10-year anniversaries, a one-month paid sabbatical every five years, and an annual anniversary bonus.

  • Remote work support: $500 for first-year home-office setup and $400 annually thereafter for new equipment.

  • Internet: Reimbursement of up to $75 per month.

  • Wellness: Gym membership reimbursement of up to $50 per month and access to a company-paid Wellable subscription.

  • Work environment: Remote opportunity within the United States and an inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunities.
