Overview

The Senior Android Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing advanced camera and audio solutions across the Unified Communications (UC) product portfolio. This role requires deep technical expertise spanning Android platform internals, framework development, and application architecture, with a strong focus on delivering innovative AI-powered user experiences.

The successful candidate will lead the integration of proprietary and third-party camera and audio devices with the Android-based UC platform, ensuring seamless interoperability, reliability, and performance. They will also play a critical role in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across both development and real-world environments.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to cross-domain effort to create innovative application solutions for our UC product offerings including new UC feature development at both framework and application levels. Participate in full lifecycle product development (in an agile environment) including software architecture/design, documentation, implementation, project estimates, scheduling, integration planning and deliveries.

  • Develop a full, hands-on understanding of our existing system and application framework to allow for future development, support of other developers, and troubleshooting of issues.

  • Contribute to the integration of in-house or 3rd-party cameras and audio devices into our UC Android platforms.

  • Create and demonstrate proof of concepts promptly to guide business decisions.

  • Help to drive continuous improvement and integration of legacy software projects during ongoing development as well as research and innovate technologies to come up with simple, original engineering solutions to complicated problems and customer demands. Analyze and problem-solve field issues and provide onsite support as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

  • Software development experience on Android platform, including embedded Android systems as well working with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and building the Android OS

  • Proficient with object-oriented programming with C/C++/Java/Kotlin and modular design.

  • Solid experience as a senior developer contributing throughout the full, end-to-end software development lifecycle. This includes scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, code review, testing, and delivery.

  • Experience driving continuous technological innovation and deliveries as well as dealing with complex and ambiguous problems

  • Android platform, Android Open Source Project (AOSP), embedded Android systems.

  • C/C++/Java/Kotlin and modular design.

  • Self-starting and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

  • Proven track record of learning and applying new technologies quickly.

  • Strong communication skills to articulate development strategies, architecture, and design.

  • Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence/Git/Gerrit/GitHub/SVN for product development
