Senior Software Engineer (Equity Only)

– UAE PropTech Startup

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join Eqary, an early-stage proptech startup building a platform to digitise property transactions in the UAE.

This is an equity-only role (no salary initially) for someone who wants to build a company long-term.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Lead the technical vision and product roadmap

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs

• Make architecture and technology decisions

• Write code, enforce engineering best practices, and prevent technical debt

• Advise on cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, APIs, and integrations

• Help build and eventually lead an in-house engineering tea

Ideal candidate:

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.

• Proven experience in Software Development and Programming, with a focus on production-grade applications.

• Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, building and consuming APIs, and working with databases.

• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices.

• Experience with at least one modern back-end language/framework (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar).

• Background in designing secure, scalable cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Comfort with version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in fintech, proptech, or transactional platforms is a plus
