Job description
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our travel technology team, specializing in Passenger Service Systems (PSS) and Global Distribution Systems (GDS). This is a mission-critical role where you will design, build, and maintain the backbone of our airline’s distribution and inventory systems. You will balance proactive feature development—touching reservations, ticketing, and fare distribution—with high-stakes production support. As a senior member of the team, you will act as an escalation point for live incidents, ensuring the reliability of systems that directly impact passenger travel and airline operations.
Key Responsibilities
-
System Integration:
Design and maintain robust integrations with major PSS platforms (e.g., Amadeus Altéa, Sabre, Travelport, Navitaire, Radixx) and GDS networks.
-
Core Development:
Build and support systems managing reservations, ticketing, fare calculation, inventory/availability, PNR management, and revenue accounting using .NET.
-
Messaging & Protocols:
Implement solutions using industry-standard formats including EDIFACT, Type A/B messaging, NDC, and IATA standards (PADIS, AIDX).
-
API Management:
Develop and maintain high-performance interfaces between internal systems and external GDS/PSS endpoints (SOAP/REST, XML/JSON).
-
Production Ownership:
Own the triage, root cause analysis, and permanent resolution of GDS/PSS-related incidents. Troubleshoot PNR/ticketing discrepancies and message-queue failures.
-
On-Call Leadership:
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide rapid response for critical booking and ticketing systems.
-
Strategic Collaboration:
Work cross-functionally with revenue management, airport operations, and interline teams to translate complex business rules into technical specifications.
-
Operational Excellence:
Author and maintain technical runbooks, monitoring, and alerting systems to minimize recurring incidents and improve system stability.
-
Mentorship:
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and influence architectural decisions for PSS/GDS-adjacent systems.
-
Compliance:
Ensure all developments align with IATA resolutions, interline agreements, and global data standards.
Required Qualifications
-
Extensive experience in software engineering using the .NET framework, with a focus on mission-critical, high-availability systems.
-
Proven technical expertise in airline PSS/GDS integration (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, etc.).
-
Deep understanding of travel industry messaging standards (EDIFACT, Type A/B, XML, JSON).
-
Demonstrated experience in production support and incident management within a high-pressure environment.
-
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis on complex distributed systems.
-
Ability to translate complex airline business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
Nice-to-Have
-
Experience with NDC implementation (IATA NDC schemas, aggregators like Farelogix/Accelya).
-
Exposure to interline/codeshare workflows, IROPS (irregular operations) handling, or revenue accounting reconciliation.
-
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
-
IATA or relevant airline industry certifications.
-
Prior experience working directly with airline operations, revenue management, or customer service teams.
What We Offer
-
Competitive Compensation & Security:
Comprehensive medical insurance coverage and end-of-service gratuity.
-
Travel Benefits:
Annual air ticket allowance to support your personal travel.
-
Work-Life Balance:
Generous paid time off (PTO) policy.
-
Global Mobility:
Full support for work visa sponsorship and relocation assistance where applicable.
