About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer, Home Experience contributes to one of the platform’s highest-traffic areas, focusing on Feed experiences across mobile applications and the website. This role develops and improves user-facing features that enhance content discovery, engagement, and usability for hundreds of millions of users. The position works closely with product, design, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact experiences and shape the future of the platform.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to develop and launch new products and user-facing features.

• Lead projects through the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.

• Drive development of backend service architecture supporting mobile and web clients.

• Develop reliable and scalable systems that support high-traffic user experiences.

• Use product metrics and experimentation to evaluate outcomes and guide technical and product decisions.

• Promote developer productivity, engineering best practices, and operational excellence within the team.

• Improve system observability, reliability, and performance through effective monitoring and instrumentation.

• Partner with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to shape product and technical roadmaps.

• Identify opportunities to improve user experience, usability, and engagement across Feed experiences.

• Leverage modern generative AI tools to improve software development productivity and workflows.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience developing user-facing software applications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, or C#.

• Experience working with product metrics, experimentation, and data-driven product development.

• Familiarity with analytics and experimentation tools such as BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.

• Experience leveraging generative AI tools to improve software engineering productivity.

• Strong understanding of user experience and usability principles; experience with social platforms is a plus.

• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

• Self-directed and comfortable operating in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience collaborating with machine learning engineering teams.

• Experience building large-scale consumer or social applications.

• Familiarity with backend architecture supporting high-traffic mobile and web experiences.

• Experience designing and analyzing product experiments.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Base salary range: $190,000–$267,000 USD annually.

• Eligibility for equity compensation in the form of restricted stock units.

• Potential eligibility for commission depending on the position.
