Our client seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve enterprise AWS-based data platforms supporting Swift and Fabric Access Bridge. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership across data lake and pipeline capabilities, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes-based services. The engineer will deliver secure, scalable platform solutions, mentor peers, and communicate clearly with distributed stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and support cloud-native software and platform services on AWS.

Develop APIs, automation services, and self-service tooling for platform consumers.

Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve observability.

Translate business needs into scalable, enterprise-ready solutions and reusable patterns.

Recommend architectures that scale across multiple consuming teams.

Define technical direction and roadmap for platform capabilities including Swift and FAB.

Evaluate options for scalability, security, supportability, and enterprise impact.

Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and pairing.

Partner with Product, Architecture, Cybersecurity, and product teams to balance speed with platform health.

Engage reliably during core hours and contribute actively in virtual collaboration.
Experience Requirements
-
10+ years in software, cloud, or platform engineering with demonstrated leadership.

Current hands-on coding in Python and/or Java, plus SQL, with ability to pass a live coding assessment.

Hands-on AWS platform engineering, including Lambda, EKS, S3, Glue, Lake Formation, IAM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, RDS/PostgreSQL, and Athena.

Data lake and data pipeline development experience.

Infrastructure as Code with Terraform Enterprise, including modules and providers, and Git workflows.

Containers and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.

CI/CD pipelines, API design, microservices, and event-driven architecture.

Experience with distributed data systems and tools such as Apache Flink, Apache Hudi, and Apache Iceberg.

Preferred: Kafka and Schema Registry, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, Aurora, EMR, Redshift, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Concourse, Vault or similar, cloud migration, observability and monitoring.

Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders in distributed teams.
